Granite
Granite is a rock of volcanic origin generated by the cooling and crystallization of molten magma. Its name, from the Latin granum, is derived from its special structure made up of small and medium sized grains. Its particular hardness and resistance to atmospheric agents and acid agents, have made it particularly suitable, in architecture, for the construction of monuments, buildings, bridges and roads and in interior design for creating items of furnishing and decor such as washbasins and kitchen tops.
